Upon arrival, proceed to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa, a luxurious urban retreat nestled within beautifully landscaped gardens in Johannesburg. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the exclusive Rovos station in Pretoria. Here, enjoy a museum visit followed by a welcome reception. Once aboard, you can freshen up before joining fellow travellers in the lounge and observation cars for tea. Dinner will be served as you journey toward Witbank.

Spend the day aboard the train as it travels through the eastern route, passing through the rugged eMalahleni coal-mining region and Middelburg, Africa’s stainless-steel hub. Take this time to relax, connect with fellow travellers, and savour the luxurious atmosphere. Dinner will be served as you approach Malelane.

Begin the day with an early breakfast before embarking on a full-day game viewing in Kruger National Park. Keep your binoculars ready to spot the Big Five and other incredible wildlife. Kruger, with its 2-million hectares of diverse life forms, is a world leader in environmental management. After an exciting day, return to the train for tea and dinner as we journey toward Hoedspruit.

Today, you’ll enjoy a thrilling game drive in Kapama Game Reserve, home to over 40 mammal species, including the Big Five. Later, visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre to learn about conservation efforts, breeding programs, and anti-poaching initiatives. Return to the train for lunch as we depart for Tzaneen and Louis Trichardt. Breakfast and dinner are served onboard.

Continue northward after breakfast as the train travels to Rutenga, Zimbabwe. Border formalities will take place enroute. Limpopo Province, South Africa’s northernmost region, is a gateway to neighbouring countries and is known for its diverse landscapes, cultural richness, and harmony among its various ethnic groups. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served onboard.

After breakfast, transfer to the Great Zimbabwe Monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest precolonial monument south of the Egyptian pyramids. Explore the ancient ruins and learn about the Rozwi people who once thrived here. Rejoin the train at Oreti Siding and enjoy dinner enroute to Bulawayo.

Enjoy breakfast and lunch aboard the train before an afternoon game drive in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest wildlife area. Keep an eye out for massive elephant herds, graceful giraffes, and elusive leopards as you explore the park’s diverse ecosystems. Dinner is served as we head toward Victoria Falls.

After breakfast, arrive at Victoria Falls Station and check out of the train. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls, one of nature’s most awe-inspiring wonders. Following the tour, transfer to your hotel for lunch and leisure. In the afternoon, consider an optional scenic helicopter flight over the falls, offering a breathtaking view. Later, join a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi River with canapes and drinks. Overnight at The Palm River Hotel.
